Greek Islands Trip - Day 16

Today we relaxed in the morning before boarding the ferry to Santorini, with a short stop at Ios. The approach to Santorini was breath-taking. The port is within the caldera of an extinct (we hope) volcano, with villages perched on its edge. To me this looked like snow on the top of mountains. The photo shows our view of the village of Oia as the ferry entered the caldera, a place where we are ensconced in a hotel with a beautiful view of the sea, and from where we watched the sun set. After this, we went into the village and had dinner in a more beautiful setting than last night. One would not have thought that was possible. After all our island visits, we did not expect that things would get better. But they have. This place is spectacular - about the most spectacular setting I have ever seen! I hope to show this in some of the photos from the coming days.
