August 17 - Goderich Celtic Roots Festival

Last weekend we travelled to Goderich to attend the Goderich Celtic Roots Festival. This was our third time attending this event.

We were hosted by Nancy and Harry Bartz, again.

This annual music festival begins with the Friday evening concert, and then continues on Saturday and Sunday with afternoon shows and the larger evening concerts.

Harry and Veda at the entrance to Harbour Park where the weekend festival events run.

This is the main stage, the setting for the evening concerts.

We just set down our lawn chairs to reserve a spot and leave them there for the whole weekend.

A number of craft vendors set up their booths displaying their wares for sale.

Josh House, Goderich guitar builder, at his booth.

Ariko (mother, father and daughters), from Lafontaine, Ontario, performing on the main stage.

These performers were on the main stage.

During the afternoon, one can wander and take in various performances at three smaller venues.

Here are random photos of musicians during their afternoon gigs.

This is a small intimate Celtic music festival, all within a small park on the bluffs overlooking Lake Huron.

Next year's festival is scheduled for August 7th to 9th, 2020.
