This was where we spent last night, in Grobisce. Our apartment was in the door at the left. This building is a new construction, whereas the building to the right is a renovation of an old structure. This now serves as the restaurant.

This was the breakfast buffet table. Eggs from the kitchen were also available. My scrambled eggs were some of the best I've tasted. To the ladies' chagrin, they had ordered a boiled egg.

Then we hit the road northward through Idrija, Kobarid, Bovec, and on.

These are some scenes from that drive through valleys and along narrow winding roads.

The difficulty for me as a photographer is that there are few places to stop to show the most dramatic sections.

Then we climbed over Vrsic Pass, with its 49 switchbacks, with an altitude of 1611 meters.

We then arrived in Kranjska Gora, our stop for the night.

We found this pension through the town's tourist information centre.

We then walked in the town to find a restaurant for dinner.

I wish that we could rave about the meal, but...

Tomorrow we will be in Italy.
