This last week in the north Okanagan has been mild, with either overcast gray skies or, less frequently, bland blue skies. None of this inspires me to take landscape photographs. So I pivot to abstract images.

These are both abstract images, though the subject of the second one is recognizable to most viewers.

This can also be considered an abstract photo since its location and relative size are not apparent.
I have searched for landscape subjects. I saw these trees along the road to our house.

The sky has some interest. But the problem with this image is that the two trees on the left merge.
So I searched for a better angle to separate them and took this photo.

This is definitely not a good photograph. The bland blue sky is very uninspiring.
I hope that at some other time I will be able to photograph these trees with a background of a dramatic sky.

On one of the aforementioned bland blue sky days I took a drive into the valley north of Vernon. I spotted a couple eagles guarding some carcass in the field some distance away. This one sat in a tree nearby.
The annual Vernon Winter Carnival took place this week. One of its attractions is snow sculptures in the village on the mountain.
These two images I took on different days: the first under overcast conditions and the second with some sunshine.

Note the difference in colour. But each lacks definition. Neither one was under ideal light.
I've also been processing slides which I have chosen and scanned from my extensive collection.
Here are two recent selections that were taken in Sudbury.
