The ski season has come to an end. Spring has arrived in the Okanagan Valley.

We are now able to hike up in the park across the street from the house in which we are living.

2- C_22_0166 Warm weather and the signs of spring are everywhere in Vernon, as in this scene at Cool's Pond.

But up on the mountain, winter conditions still do occur. Though this was near to the closing of Silver Star Resort to skiing, one of the best snowfalls of our stay here came on the last Thursday of the season.

This was one of the best skiing days of the last three months for me.

Time to empty our locker and bring our ski equipment down, either into storage or to pack and take home.

Thanks to Ann and Michael Berry who graciously store our skis, etc. until we return.

Our last visit of the season to our favourite hangout in the village, Bugaboos Bakery and Café.

Here Veda has purchased a loaf of Frank's famous Norwegian bread. The recipe for this bread was passed to Bugaboos just prior to the Vancouver Olympics by the Norwegian cross-country ski team when they did their pre-Olympic training at Silver Star.

It has since become a café staple.

From among the café's many offerings, our favourite is the cinnamon bun. With a great cup of coffee, this is too often how we end our day's skiing.

We drool until we come back next season.
