November 7 - Portugal, Day 21

Today, our first day in Porto, was a slow day. I took only one roll of film (or the equivalent of).

The day varied with sun, cloud, or rain. To get the lay of the city, we took a tour on the hop on-hop off bus, but we did no hopping off.

_02A2030_02A2030 Porto is not as interesting as Lisbon. It does have some interesting sites, but these are not in as concentrated areas as in Lisbon.

_02A2034_02A2034 Porto also has an old tram system, but it is quite a bit smaller.

These two old churches had interesting azulejos, hand-painted tiles which are a legacy of the Moors, on their exteriors.

Our day's highlight was a visit to Livraria Lello, a 1906 bookstore, which required an entry fee.

The interior of this store was worth the entry fee.
