British Columbia's Proposed Wolf Cull

December 02, 2012  •  Leave a Comment

I learned about the following situation on John Marriott's blog. John is an acquaintance, a wildlife photographer, based in Canmore, Alberta.

He recently was alerted to a wolf kill contest (yes, that's what it was called) being promoted in northern B.C. This was being passed off as a conservation measure!

He learned of a B.C. draft management plan for the culling of wolves in British Columbia. This was being proposed though there had not been scientific evidence of its necessity.

John explains all this better than I can. Go to his blog (blog.wildernessprints.com) for more information and links to other events and articles.

Dec2 I believe we should all be concerned about the demonization of this species. I urge you to add your voice to the opposition to these measures.
