April 20 - Back Home

Our drive home from Vernon was uneventful. The first day was overcast, but after that, the days were bright and sunny. This made for poor conditions for photography, so little reason to stop. Bland blue skies are the bane of nature photographers. I had been hoping to photograph ice piled up by the winds on the shore of Lake Superior, but the lake was still ice covered. On the positive side, the roads were bare and dry - good driving conditions.

We arrived home on Saturday, and had that day and Sunday to work in the yard. Monday it rained. We heard that most of the snow had melted just before we returned, but the lakes are still frozen.
