We delayed our departure from Helena for about an hour because it had snowed during the night. We thought that this would allow the road crews a chance to clear the highway. As it turned out, the roads were quite good. The driving lane was clear, but the passing lane was mostly snow-packed. The day soon cleared, so we had sunny skies for the trip. The drive along I-15 north from Helena is very picturesque as it winds through the mountains. In here the road had some snow-covered sections.
