Today the Ski Buddies celebrated Ontario Day at Silver Star Mountain Resort. Even though the day was very cold (-19C), many of the skiers showed up for the ski down. Having sunny skies helped to attract more participants.

The skiers met in the village, and then rode to the top of the mountain in the new gondola.

The group prepared to ski down Far Out, led by flag bearer, Joe Derochie.
Joe was the first Ontarioan to move to Vernon, from Sudbury. This was the beginning of the Ontario Ski Buddies phenomenon at Silver Star.

Here the skiers stopped for the traditional photo at Renegade Ridge.
The it was on to the Red Antler for lunch and prize draws.
