Greek Islands Trip - Day 10

Sept 14

This was our first full day here, though it seems like we've been here much longer. We spent the day wandering the narrow alleyways of the town. These winding ways work up from the waterfront in apparently haphazard order (oxymoron?).  It's quite a maze. The attached photo shows one of these alleys.
Otherwise this was a relaxing day just enjoying the ambiance of Mykonos town, drinking coffee in an outdoor cafe or having a snack of fruit or gelatto. In the evening we randomly chose a place to dine, in this case an outdoor garden. We each chose a fixed menu item of barbecued lamb kebob with tomatoes, tzatziki, and a glass of wine for 11 Euros. This was probably my favourite meal of the trip. We then wandered a little, before I left Veda and Grace (Ted is visiting his cousin today) to go to a sweet shop to pick up a desert. Just before I got there, all the lights went out (power outages are common). So I sat and chatted with the shop owner until power was restored about 20 minutes later. Little did I know that the girls were wandering the hazardous alleys, by the light of Grace's phone, looking for me.  The real bonus was a sky full of bright stars without light pollution. So chalk up another experience to remember about this trip.
