Greek Trip - Day 24

Sept 26

The last two days have been well into the 30s. So today we went up to the Acropolis (free admission, I don't know why) early in the morning before it got too hot. This was just as well because as we were leaving, the hordes of tourists jammed the steps up to the site. It would not have been fun to be in this crowded lineup. The rest of the time we wandered the Plaka, shopped, ate, people watched, etc. The photo shows Veda and Grace on the street of our hotel (Hotel Adonis), the entrance to it at the far right edge. The graffiti you see is quite prevalent here in the city.

A few personal observations: Greece is very clean, graffiti excluded; don't flush paper down the toilet; food is usually good even though it may not be fantastic; at the end of most meals you are provided a free sweet, quite often watermelon (tonight it was a glass of wine for each of us on the house); Veda thinks the people are short; cats everywhere which are tolerated and accepted, though they don't belong to anyone.

Tomorrow we fly home. Thanks for following.
