My photos will occasionally appear in calendars. The following sales were made through the stock agency, Alamy, one of my marketing avenues.

But I seldom see these images published because this agency does not provide publishing details.

Apr 25-1 Thus it was interesting when I was alerted to the above image's publication as the cover photo in "Scenes of Ontario," an advertising calendar which was available at a local auto repair shop and tire dealer that I patronize.

I later by chance saw the same image in the 2013 "Wild and Scenic Ontario" calendar. This is Flowerpot Island on the Bruce Peninsula.

The same photo was chosen coincidentally by two publishers in calendars for this year.

Apr 25-2 This photo of Simon Lake was used in the "Wild and Scenic Ontario" calendar of the previous year, both on the cover and as one of the monthly photos. A friend spotted this in a store and alerted me to it.

Apr 25-3 This photo appeared in World Wildlife Fund's Songbirds calendar. I spotted this one in a local book store.

Apr 25-4 I recently was notified by the stock agency that this photo, taken in Kentucky, was sold to a calendar publisher. I have no idea who that is or in what calendar it will appear. This is usually the situation, so I'm unlikely to find a copy.

Those are the vagaries of the stock photo business. It is fun to find the published photos, but that seldom happens.
