June 4 - Northern Ireland

Today we drove to the northern coast of Ireland. The forecast had been for a day of rain, but we lucked out and had an overcast day with no rain at all.

This is a photo of the coastal cliffs east of Portrush.

14-06-04-114-06-04-1 We then stopped at the ruins of Dunluce Castle, perched on a cliff overlooking the sea.

14-06-04-214-06-04-2 The highlight of the day was our exploration of the Giant's Causeway, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This proved to be frustrating to photograph because of the hordes of tourists wandering around. The worst were the ones with their phones taking photos, but then stopping in picturesque locations to ogle these likely bad photos they'd taken of themselves and their companions. World's worst invention - the phone camera (if you can consider it a camera). So here is my photo of my "companion".

14-06-04-314-06-04-3 I waited til I got to my hotel to admire the image!

This evening I gave up nice evening light to enjoy a great dinner at The Harbour Bistro in Portrush.
