At Last - Fall Colour

The colours of autumn that we usually see have been late in coming this year, apparently because the weather has been so warm.

The normal morning fogs and good sunrises have been rare. This is one morning when the sky lit up with great colour, but the day quickly clouded over, ending my hopes for some photo opportunities. This image was made at Robinson Lake in Sudbury.

Oct 7-1Oct 7-1 At the beginning of this week, I took a couple drives up Highway 129 north of Thessalon. Here I found the best colours that I'd seen thus far this fall.

Oct 7-2Oct 7-2 These reflections I found at Appleby Lake.

Oct 7-3Oct 7-3 Both days up here were overcast. The sun did come out briefly, so I was able to make this photo of the Mississaugi River near Aubrey Falls.

Oct 7-4Oct 7-4 This photo I made of early morning on the North Channel in Blind River. The scene is at our friends' Claudette and Bob Gallagher's home.

Oct 7-5Oct 7-5 Upon our return to Sudbury, I saw that the leaves were finally turning colour.

Oct 7-6Oct 7-6 This morning I had one of the better sunrises with a light fog on the Vermilion River at Whitefish.

Oct 7-7Oct 7-7 This photo was made a bit later this morning at St. Poithier Lake. The colours of autumn are finally here.

Oct 7-8Oct 7-8 I must enjoy these times, as very quickly the dull times of the long fall will be here.
