March 11 - Unseasonably Warm

The unseasonably warm weather continues in the Okanagan. The last two weeks have been sunny and warm, with some cool nights. Today the temperature in Vernon was +18C. That translates into very warm conditions on the mountain. Though we have not had any snowfall for a month, the skiing conditions are remarkably decent. By mid-morning, the snow becomes quite soft, though today more thin spots started to appear.

Last Sunday we took a drive along the west side of Lake Okanagan from Vernon to Kelowna. There we had a very nice lunch at Volcanic Hills Estate Winery.
