March 22 - Visit to Goat Cheese Farm

The early onset of spring continues here in the Okanagan. Warm days and an absence of snowfall continue to create havoc on the skiing.

Thus on Sunday we took advantage of the warm day and drove south to Kelowna. Carmelis Goat Cheese is located on the east side of Lake Okanagan on high hills south of Kelowna, in the area that was devastated by a forest fire a few years ago. Homes (and the cheese farm) have been rebuilt, but the effects of these fires are still evident.

We did not come home with any goat cheese, but did enjoy a cup of goats' milk gelatto.
