We drove to Toronto yesterday, and then Hannah drove us to the airport to catch our flight to Portugal.

The flight on Air Transat was uneventful, though Veda would disagree with this. She was quite unhappy with the airline.

We arrived in Lisbon (a six and a half hour trip) early this morning. We then met up with our prearranged transfer to our hotel in the centre of Lisbon. When we checked in at 9:30, we were informed that our room would not be ready until noon. Since we needed breakfast, we went to a cafe across the street for coffee and a croissant. Following our snack we killed time lounging in the hotel lobby until our room was ready.

It had been a long trip, so we needed a rest period. Once we revived, we went for a walk from the hotel down toward the sea.
