October 14 - Photographing Fall Colour

Rather than showing more photos of trees (how can one resist photographing these with their brilliant colours),here are a few more illustrations of possible subjects to be on the lookout for during autumn photo sessions.

The subject of bright yellow leaves but with a contrasting background was my intention, taken close to home.

_I7A0733_I7A0733 Another decaying log, but as a closeup with a fallen maple leaf resting on it.

_I7A0854_I7A0854 Looking at my feet, I found these mushrooms poking out in a bed of moss.

I could not avoid another tree photo. This one I noticed at the edge of rapids on the Onaping River with many fallen leaves scattered on the rock below it. A slow shutter speed created a contrast in the water with the solidity of the rock.

_I7A0767_I7A0767Jane Goodall Trail This would not catch anyone's attention in the fall, at least if the photographer was concentrating only on colourful subjects. So look outside the box. This large old white pine stump is placed beside the Jane Goodall Trail near Coniston.

So I hope I've inspired you to look for more unique fall subjects to photograph.
