July 24 - Photographing Giant Mural

This project has been billed as Canada's largest mural, the painting on the old hospital building in Sudbury.

It has become a location to which I go to photograph many times.

I took this photo shortly after the painting had begun last summer.

Over time I've photographed many of the details of the mural.

I find endless possibilities for interesting photos all around the building, at different times of the year.

Then I try to get more creative, to photograph other than just details.

M_20_0021M_20_0021 I thought to use the colours as a muted background. The fencing does restrict my access.

M_20_0026M_20_0026 Even a pile of the empty paint cans makes an unusual study of colour.

I soon realized that there are very few colourful cars on the road. They are mostly black, gray, or white.

In this time of lockdown, I plan visiting this site more often.
