What follows are 22 of my favourite photos from 2022. Though these may not always be among my best photos, I have chosen them for a few reasons. Maybe I do think they are very good photo. Some others I've chosen because of the experience involved with the making of the photo. Others just bring back good memories of where I was when I made the photo.

These are not in any particular order. I present them randomly. Enjoy!

Keeping it simple again makes a good image, at Silver Star Mountain Resort, BC.

I like how this graphic photo depicts Manitoulin Island's limestone alvars.

This was made in my yard after an autumn snowfall.

This photo was made from the balcony of our Airbnb in Ortisei in the Italian Dolomites.

We drove a long way on a narrow road to Platina Blato, where farmers used to graze their cattle in summer.

This birch tree is near my home. Another example of simplicity producing an interesting photo from a mundane subject.

T_22_0344Seceda mountain, above Ortisei, In the Dolomites of South Tyrol, Italy Seceda, a spectacular location in the Dolomites.

This was made on a very cold day in September, while I waited for the sun to light the mountain.

T_22_0544 Atmosphere and a great setting as the sun highlights the village of Wirzweli in central Switzerland.

T_22_0564 This was a chance encounter of a cow parade in Engelberg, Switzerland. We were having a coffee in a café when we heard the bells ringing. We hurried out, got into the car, and drove to catch up to the procession. I parked and ran to get ahead of the parade to make a few images.

This is a tradition in the Alpine countries, parading the decorated cows through the villages to their wintering barns after spending the summer in the high alpine pastures.
