You've likely heard the expression "bringing coals to Newcastle." The corollary to this would be "bringing rocks to Sudbury."
I'm not exactly bringing rocks, but I am looking at rocks elsewhere. More specifically, I'm always looking at rocks that inspire me to find photos of them.
Summer is not my favourite season in which to photograph. The landscape has become a uniform green, and the bright hot days of summer are not conducive for finding interesting images. Thus I will often look for intimate scenes.
One such time was on a recent trip to Killarney. Since this was a rainy day, I thought that the rocky shoreline by the Killarney lighthouse could be a productive area. Here is a small selection of photos from there.

The pollen on the water puddles added another dimension to the compositions.

On another day, I walked the shoreline of Providence Bay, Manitoulin Island, to another lighthouse.
These rocks are very different - limestone alvars which I photographed on an overcast day.

All of these photos were made in conditions much better than summer's bright sunshine, on rainy or overcast days.

I'll conclude with this large rock on an island in Rock Lake.
I won't wait as long before my next post!
Promise!
